We work hard to keep Paperfest a free-admission event so please no carry-ins. Below are a few of the most common questions. Click on a question to view it’s answer. A good rule of thumb is when it comes to rules, is to allow safe fun for all while respecting the acts, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators. What does it cost to enter Paperfest?
Paperfest is a FREE-ADMISSION festival! We thank our great community, sponsors, and vendors for making this possible.
What are the festival rules?
- The most important rule is to HAVE FUN!
- Paperfest has a strict NO CARRY-INS policy as this is how funds are donated into the local community.
- Paperfest requires an age-verified wristband for purchasing and consuming alcohol.
- There is no parking allowed on festival grounds, no riding bikes or skateboards through the grounds, and no pets (with the exception of service animals) allowed.
- Guests and their belongings are subject to search upon entry or reentry to the festival grounds. This list of prohibited items is subject to change. Festival organizers, security, and police officers reserve the right to allow or prohibit any item that may not be listed.
- Weapons of any kind
- Illegal substances or drug paraphernalia
- Food or Beverage (including alcohol)
- Musical Instruments
- Unauthorized Audio/Video Equipment

- Fireworks or Explosives

What are drinking wristbands?
Paperfest requires “age verified” wristbands to purchase and/or consume alcohol. Not only does this do the obvious and allows us to conveniently check and confirm everyone’s age, but it also allows you to be able to roam the festival grounds with your alcoholic beverage. Without wristbands individuals who wish to consume alcohol would have to be confined to a “beer garden” and have their ID’s checked each time they purchase a beverage.
What is the filming, photography, and marketing policy?
Paperfest reserves the right to film and photograph all festival events and activities which may or may not be used for promotional and marketing use. Many photos and videos will be displayed on our website or Facebook page (www.facebook.com/paperfest).
PHOTO & VIDEO CROWD RELEASE: Please be advised that upon entry to the event grounds you are granting permission for Paperfest, its licensees, and assigns to use your image, voice, and likeness without compensation throughout the universe, in any and all media, in perpetuity, and you release Paperfest and its successors, assigns and licensees from any liability on account of such exploitation. Paperfest assumes no responsibility for persons opposed to being photographed or filmed.
Information Center, Lost & Found, and Worker Check-in?
The information tent, lost & foun, and worker check-in will be located just inside the main entrance.
Please bring any concerns, comments, or future ideas to their attention. Volunteer Check-in is made easy and the voluneers will help direct works to the appropriate location.
LOST & FOUND – this will also be the location of the lost and found throughout the festival weekend (Paperfest is not responsible or liable for any lost or stolen items).
What is the best way to get to Paperfest, and where should I park?

Paperfest is held at Sunset Parkin in Kimberly, WI each July.
Parking is not available on the Paperfest grounds. Parking is available on village streets surrounding the park (except where marked). There are also several parking lots reserved for the weekend with a free shuttle bus service to take you from the parking lots to the main entrance. A limited number of handicapped parking spaces are available at the main entrance.
I am from out of town, where should I stay?
There are many hotels throughout the Fox Valley – our favorite is Cobblestone Hotel & Suites. Book your stay today to ensure a room!
There is no on-site camping at Paperfest. Some of the nearest locations for RV parking and camping includes High Cliff State Park and Apple Creek Campground.
Are credit or debit cards accepted?
There are numerous ATMs located throughout the event grounds. Paperfest uses a ticket system where cash can purchase tickets ($1.00 each) at a variety of ticketbooths and self-serve ticket machines. These tickets can be redeemed for food, beverages, and rides. Some food trucks and craft vendors also accept credit cards.
Is there a cover charge for the live music?
NOPE! Free admission and free live music. This is what Paperfest is all about! Check out the Paperfest lineup at https://www.paperfest.com/lineup/
Are there Police/Security onsite?
Yes, we have police and security personnel roaming the event grounds. We reserve the right to inspect all carry-ins for compliance to our event policies.
Do you accept any individual volunteer help?
While most of our volunteers are coordinated from area nonprofits and civic organizations, we accept individual volunteer help to fill necessary shifts. VOLUNTEER HERE
Are lawn chairs allowed?
YES! Lawn chairs are welcome but are requested to remain behind the “No Chairs Beyond This Point” signs. Bagged chairs are subject to security check. Any chairs left overnight will be removed from the grounds. Kim-Com Promotion (Paperfest) is not responsible for chairs or other items that are lost or stolen during the festival. If you leave your property unattended it may get moved by others. Chairs cannot be placed in the standing area.
My company is interested in sponsoring Paperfest, what should we do?
Becoming a sponsor is easy! You may fill out the website forms and pay online, or print and mail the sponsorship packet in with your payment. Specific sponsorships are available, such as a band or event sponsor, and interested parties should contact paperfestwi@gmail.com. Thanks to the wonderful sponsor support, Paperfest as able to continue to make a positive impact throughout the Fox Cities while remaining a free-admission event.
We have a sponsorship level for all business sizes, from simple name recognition as a community driven company to brand awareness and naming opportunities. Paperfest draws spectators from throughout the Fox Valley and beyond which results in a tremendous exposure opportunity. Included with each sponsorship is the pride of knowing you are helping to make the community better!
What happens to the money raised at Paperfest?
Paperfest is a 501(c)3 nonprofit event run completely by volunteers and supported by generous sponsors with the goal of bringing the community together. Proceeds from Paperfest are donated back into the community through local charitable organizations – in the past 30+ years over $1 million have been donated to nearly 200 local nonprofit and civic organizations.
It works like this: Volunteers register to represent a nonprofit organization of their choice, Paperfest then pays an hourly rate per each volunteer back to the represented not-for-profit organization. They payout to each organization is based on the revenue generated by the festival and the number of volunteer hours worked. The more volunteers working, more hours achieved, and then more money earned!
Who runs Paperfest?
Paperfest is organized by Kim-Com Promotions a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation. The Paperfest Committee is made up of a team of dedicated volunteers that work year round to successfully organize and put on this premier four-day festival. Individuals interested in helping plan Paperfest can contact paperfestwi@gmail.com. Festival ideas/suggestions can be directed to any of the event Directors via email.
How can I get involved?
Welcome! Depending on your level of interest, you may apply to be on the Paperfest planning committee, fill roles in a sub-committee, or simply signup to volunteer at the festival. We welcome anyone interested in giving back to join us!
Paperfest Planning Committee and Sub-Committees include: Music and Entertainment, Sports (each sporting event), Marketing, Food and Beverage, Volunteer, Kids Games, Finance, Sponsorship, and Grounds.
Who decides which bands play at Paperfest?
Paperfest’s music and entertainment committee is responsible for booking acts. Booking bands for a music festival is much more complicated than most people realize. Many factors influence which acts appear at Paperfest such as band/entertainers availability, sponsorship/budget, and the most important is our goal to provided a wide variety of musical talent to please most tastes and the artists ability to attract a large audience. What if there is inclement weather?
Paperfest is an outdoor festival. Concerts and activities will take place rain or shine event so please plan accordingly. The show must go on! Heavy rain and/or lightning may cause delays. Cancellations are up to each entertainer and vendor’s discretion. Any weather related changes will be announced via our Facebook page.
What are the festival grounds like?
Paperfest is held at Sunset Park which covers 25-acres of grass, asphalt pathways, and parking lot connecting the stages. Plan accordingly as there are some distances to be covered to get to all of the areas and stages on the grounds.
Where is the Lost & Found?
If you believe you left or lost an item at Paperfest, you may contact/visit the Information Tent near the park entrance. Paperfest is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Can I take pictures and videos?
We welcome phone camera photos. Please tag us when posting on social media! The use of unauthorized professional equipment is strictly prohibited. Paperfest reserves the right to use any and all photos from the event.
Are outside vendors allowed?
Outside vendors must be approved prior to the event. Unauthroized solicitation is prohibiited. If you are interested in becoming a vendor please contact us.
